Terms of Service

Effective May 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Future You ("Future You", "we", "us") covering your use of the Future You mobile app, our website at futureyou.cc, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your password confidential. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.

3. Voice Cloning and Consent

The Service creates a synthetic copy of your voice from a sample you provide. You may only submit a voice recording of yourself, or one for which you have the explicit, recorded consent of the person whose voice it is. You grant Future You a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that recording solely to create, host, and operate your cloned-voice model for the purpose of providing the Service.

You may delete your cloned voice at any time from Settings or by deleting your account. Doing so will instruct our voice-synthesis provider to delete the underlying model.

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

Some features of the Service require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store (or other in-app billing providers we use) and are subject to the billing platform's terms, including their auto-renewal, refund, and cancellation policies.

  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the end of the current period.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel at any time through your App Store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you continue to have access until that date.
  • Refunds: Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. We do not process refunds directly. Where required by law, statutory refund rights are unaffected.
  • Free trials and intro pricing: If you take a free trial or introductory price, you will be charged the regular price when the trial or intro period ends unless you cancel beforehand.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit a voice recording of any person without that person's explicit consent.
  • Use the Service to impersonate, defraud, harass, threaten, or harm anyone, or to generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, sexual content involving minors, or in violation of any third party's rights.
  • Use the Service to generate political deepfakes, election content, or content designed to deceive about a real person.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, decompile, or otherwise extract the source of the Service or any models we use.
  • Interfere with the Service, probe for vulnerabilities, or use it in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or to train any AI model.

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated these rules, and we may report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities.

6. AI Output — Not Professional Advice

Calls and messages generated by the Service are produced by AI and may contain inaccuracies. The Service is not a substitute for professional advice. It does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other licensed-professional services. If you are in crisis or believe you may be a danger to yourself or others, contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional.

7. Ownership and License to You

The Service, including our software, models, designs, and brand, is owned by Future You and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

8. Your Content

You retain ownership of any voice samples, goals, journal entries, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant Future You a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, display back to you, and otherwise use Your Content solely as needed to operate and improve the Service for you. We will not use Your Content to train general-purpose AI models, and we will not share Your Content with third parties for advertising.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on third-party providers, including those listed in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or actions of those providers. Your use of their services through the Service is also subject to their terms.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED OUTPUT. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FUTURE YOU AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) USD $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU IN FULL.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Future You harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, or your infringement of any third party's rights, including any unauthorized use of another person's voice.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for any reason, including if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts located in Sydney, New South Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

16. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are between you and Future You, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. To the extent these Terms provide for usage rules or restrictions that are less restrictive than the Apple Media Services Terms, the Apple Media Services Terms control for downloads from the App Store. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. In the event of any product warranty failure, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price to you; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligations.
